I'm currently trying reach, through the media, networking throughfriends and family, as many people and communities in the UnitedStates as I possibly can as quickly as possible. I I am dillegentlyworking without pay and have devoted the remainder of my life togetting comprehensive federal and state legislation passed andimplemented as quickly as I can. Unfortunately, every singlesecond, minute and hour, of each day, it appears that every singlemedical facility in the United States (no exaggeration, I haven'tfound one that doesn't!), are needlessly and senselessly, puttingeach and every one of their patients, receiving IV medications on adaily basis, in extreme and grave danger of being killed fornothing more than an enormous cost reduction measure for thefacilities! Regrettably, it appears that this cost reductionmeasure has been adopted and used by all medical facilities sinceWorld War II, as far as I can tell, from the extensive researchI've done since my daughter Emily was killed two years ago!. Thisawful hospital pharmacy management practice has been implementedand used every single day, simply due to the fact that virtuallyeveryone in the public, even the physicians and specialists thatwork for all of these facilities, are sadly unaware that this iseven allowed to go on in today's day and age. Furthermore, what Ifind absolutely shocking, is it's completely legal in the UnitedStates! Just so you understand and realize that by bringing thisissue to light, trying to effectively create a public outcry overthis terrible and deadly practice, is not simply a mourning fatheroverreacting to his daughter's tragic death, further validation ofthese facts can be read about the horrific details on USAToday'swebsite at http://www.usatoday.com/money/indust...24-emily_n.htm As I already mentioned and want to emphasize, my activism andefforts are genuinely meant to get the word out to as many peopleacross the United States as possible! I truly want to bring thisserious issue to light so individuals like yourselves can protectyour families, friends and loved ones. When you or a family memberare scheduled to have any type procedure requiring IV medicationsit is your right to demand that only a Registered Pharmacistprepare all medications during your/their stay at any medicalfacility! The best time to do this is prior to having the proceduredone when you sit down with the administrators to get the requiredpaperwork done and discuss how the hospital is going to get paid, what insurance will be used, etc.. You need to insist that only aperson within the hospital that has the proper authority to signoff on this simple request! Due to additional liability for thehospital after you make this very specific request, I haven't heardof a single facility denying anyone. If you don't do this, you arealmost certain to get an unqualified pharmacy technician preparingliterally all of the IV medications during your stay. At the current time, Pharmacy Technicians are not employed bythe hospitals to improve patient care in any way (Like nurses anddoctors do!). What I have learned through extensive research, isthat Pharmacy Technicians in America are a significant "costreduction measure" for every medical facility in the US and as Imentioned earlier, as far as I can tell, have been since World WarII. Unfortunately, literally every single facility that compoundsIV medication, even the top medical facilities in the US (i.e.Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, etc.) every singleone has adopted this practice. The cost savings for hospitals isvery significant. Instead of staffing their pharmacies withmultiple pharmacists, being paid six figure salaries, the facilityhas to simply have one or two pharmacists, during any given shift, simply having them "baby-sit" usually anywhere from six to eightunqualified pharmacy technicians who are paid on average $11.00 anhour! Again, the only reason medical facilities get away with thiseveryday is simply due to the fact that the general public isn'taware of this practice, which is putting thousands of lives at riskat this very moment, and every single day!! All of us who areadmitted for any procedure simply assume any hospital is where allthe are. These facilities are where the common expectation for allof us is where we are the safest and best cared for when we're illor requiring medical treatment of any kind! Even the doctors thathave worked at various facilities for literally decades are noteven aware of this common practice occurring everyday in their ownfacilities! There wasn't one single physician of Emily's that wasaware of this! In fact, the head of Pediatric Oncology, as well as,the Head of Pediatric Surgery at Emily's facility were socompletely shocked and enraged, initially such disbelief that thisgoes on every single day to every single one of their patientsbeing treated by them! Please help me in any way you can, by spreading the word toas many people as possible! Together, we can all make a difference, saving thousands of lives by exposing this horrific and deadlysecret that has been perpetuated by medical administrators for manyyears! By getting the word out, I truly believe, that my daughter'slife was meant to save thousands I am convinced that's why God made me such a vocal andtenacious person! Bottom line, these senseless deaths do not have to beoccurring over and over again! By aggressively assisting me in myefforts, I know in my heart that my beautiful little angel, Emily, will truly live on forever!! Very best regards to everyone, Chris Christopher S.
